Ranchin' It

My family has begun this 'tradition' where we go to this ranch and help with the round up and branding of cattle. Last year we about scared Joey have to death, he had no idea all the things that were involved after you get the pore things pinned down. This year, it rained. This meant we came up, made huge amounts of dutch oven potatoes and cobbler, spent the night in a tent on their yard and then came home. But we still had a good time.

The Girls

It was super cold! As you can see Mindi was taking necessary precautions while eating her potatoes.

Ken is on the left, he's the Ranch we all came to see. We sat around Friday night singing tunes that Sara played on the guitar.

This is Sara. She's Nickoles friend- she's pretty much family now. Nickole served her mission in Sara's home town while Sara was on her mission. She is an amazing guitarist, she can play pretty much anything you want... that can be looked up and the cords found.

Sleeping was an adventure. I guess someone had a great idea to round up the cattle tonight so they wouldn't have to do as much in the morning. We'll they separated the mother's from their calves and so the mother's called all night long. Then there were the sheep who decided it to join in the chorus. It rained all night, so there was a nice pitter patter on the tent roof and did I mention the train that came by periodically through the night. Other than that, sleep was fantastic!
